Remove Unused Programs

Removing unused programs is an easy way to free up hard drive space and possibly speed up your computer. But don't get carried away. Only remove the programs that you don't use or need and if you're unsure, leave it along.

Run Check Disk

Check disk (Chkdsk) won't make your computer run faster, but it can find and fix common errors on your computer's hard drive. Check disk is a time consuming process (1 to 3 hours) and you won't be able to use your computer while it's running. Once you start check disk, don't stop it.
